To Remember

Our family blog is meant for a small audience of the people that care the most about us and we about them. It is our family record of memories and experiences that will help us remember how blessed we are to be together. The joyous opportunities in life are meant to help us through the challenges of life. We have much to be grateful for-blogging it helps us REMEMBER.

A Month of Events

June is Rose Festival month in Portland. Since it is our last summer here, we thought we better go check it out. We have been to the rose gardens at Washington Park many times but you can't miss it during the festival.

Pictures are a bit out of order, but this gives you a good idea of the weather for the entire month of June. I am counting my blessings that we are not dealing with the heat wave of fires that the rest of the country is fighting. Maren got caught out in the rain and the neighbor kids rescued her. She loved it.

Just a few of our sweet Eva in case you forgot what she looked like:)

Back to the Rose Festival: We were walking to the parade route when we passed by these darling statues. I thought the little bear looked like Eva so I needed a picture.

Of course Maren didn't want to be left our so she wanted one by the deer.

We found a few different spots to stop and watch.

It was a fun event to experience.

Fun in the sun.

Maren and friends at Milan's birthday.

Fun at the zoo! It was a slightly rainy day on $4 Tuesday which was great because more animals came out than usual!

One day Karen and I took the kids on a walk to feed the ducks. All it took was for them to hear us coming and they came running out of the bushes straight at us. They backed us into the middle of the road! This picture doesn't show how many there really were. It was madness.

Road Trip up the Oregon Coastline-Coos Bay to Cape Kiwanda

Our little 4 month old

Sorry if this is inappropriate but I couldn't resist

As you can see she didn't seem to have a problem with it.

Our view of the seals and sea lions from afar. The photo does not do it justice.

Love the face-I think it means: "daddy, your face is rougher than mommy's when you kiss me."

Taken at another viewpoint of the sea life.

This smile melts my heart!

Maren loved this little bench that was just her size. I love the little face by Maren's knee that managed to make it into the picture! So random.

Cape Kiwanda! We have great memories of our first trip here and we were excited to come back.

I love the lighting in this picture. Captured the sweet innocence of her face and her daddy's love.

A great way to finish off our quick road trip.

I don't know if this video ever got posted, but even if it did, this is a fun reminder of the sweet spirit of a little child.
Just a day in the life of the Garlick girls. Hopefully the "Mexan" comments are not offensive--she made them up herself.

A few things we have been doing

The beach! Eva's first time.
Maren in all her glory

Our little beach bum

Maren and Eva are becoming quite the buds. Eva loves watching Maren in action. I think she cant wait to be a big girl. On an outing to Mommy's favorite place-Costco.

The following pictures are brought to you by Maren. She's pretty good with the camera dont you think?
She thought we were hilarious.

Here are a few of her

Washington Park has lots of little beautiful paths so in honor of the beautiful spring time we went exploring.

The park also has this cool little outdoor amphitheater that Maren couldnt resist taking a jog around.
At night, Spencer sits outside Maren's door to keep her in her room until she finally falls asleep. He would often study with his laptop so instead of throwing the usual tiff to try to get out of going to sleep she decided to use her charm and cuteness by bringing out her leaptop and laying by her daddy. It looks like the charm worked as you can see by smile on her face!

Just had to add the random picture because how often do I get a picture where Maren is actually looking at the camera. My little girl is growing up!

If you haven't noticed already, ALL of the kids Maren's age are BOYS. She doesn't seem to mind since she had never known any different. This particular weekend, the husbands were all in Florida. We had a fun time in a friend's backyard while the kids played with a giant sprinkler ball.
We also recently went to the Children's Museum.

This picture makes me laugh!

The end of a fun day at the museum. This picture is only missing Eva so.....

I threw this one in! A typical and welcomed sight in our home! We are loving our little smiley baby! Now that the colic is gone. She is nothing but fun.

Updates!

Its been a while since I updated and you can probably see why. Blogger is doing funny things and wouldn't let me upload pictures every time I tried. I think it will finally work. Here are a few updates:
Eva has learned to walk already! Just kidding. This little girl gets so stiff in the legs we thought we would try to get a picture of her looking like she was standing.

Daddy and his girls.
Maren went to an awesome super hero birthday for her great friend Jaxon. They made there own capes and everything
The capes

Then, they had a superhero olympics where Maren won the gold medal in the strength competition. She was required to carry a bucket of water bottles across the path in the picture below. Look how proud she is.

I love this superhero action shot of the kids running to save the day.

Today we found Eva with an entire green bean in her mouth, luckily right after you-know-who stuffed it in!
